At Tribesports, we are committed to building a company of which we can all be proud – not only of the performance and quality of the products we create, but the manner in which we achieve them. Whether it’s responsible sourcing, giving back to our communities, or reducing our environmental impact, we believe corporate responsibility is a companywide effort. Here’s what we’re doing to ensure that Tribesports products are produced under safe, fair, legal and humane working conditions throughout the supply chain.
We carefully select the fabrics we use. Our definition of quality demands that every fabric we use be durable and functionally fit for its intended use. It requires that our fabrics resist degradation from wearing and washing, be easy to care for, and are grown or manufactured with care for people and the planet.
The choice of fabrics, materials, methods of production and dyes are thus all taken into consideration prior to the manufacture of our products. To ensure optimal protection and performance our products are field or lab tested for their durability, appearance and quality after washes and impact (e.g. washing, rubbing).
Tribesports products meet the criteria of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is an external, independent certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and finished products and is the most used product safety label worldwide.
Wear the bright colours you love without fear of polluting the air and water with harsh chemicals. Tribesports has partnered with the industry-leading experts at bluesign® to verify the safety of its products and to help our mills reduce their impact by using water and energy more efficiently and by addressing harmful chemicals at the fabric level.
At Tribesports, we are deeply committed to creating a safe and positive working environment for those men and women who make our products, in accordance with the highest standards of business ethics and respect for the environment and human rights. In short, we care about people and the world we all share. Consequently, we visit the factory, observe its facilities, and conduct third-party social compliance audits. When you pull on your Tribesports kit, you can be proud that you're sporting an ethical product and that you have bought from a brand that cares as much as you do.
We expect workers in our global supply chain to have safe, fair and non-discriminatory working conditions. Because relying solely on local laws and enforcement may not be enough to achieve this goal, Tribesports partnered with Intertek, an international inspection company to conduct social compliance auditing, which includes employee salary assessment, working condition assessment, employee and employer relationship assessment, health and safety awareness assessment.
While we design, engineer, and specify every component and stitch of our high performance running gear in UK, we manufacture in factories around the world. Countries of manufacture include Taiwan, Cambodia, Portugal, Turkey and China.
We have continual communication with all factory partners. Our sourcing managers visit our factories regularly and communicate with our factories daily.
No, Tribesports products are safe to wear and an environmentally sound choice. All Tribesports products meet the criteria of the product safety standard Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. Furthermore, Tribesports is a bluesign® partner, which verifies that the manufacturing processes are carefully managed and equipped with the best available environmental controls. Consequently, our customers can trust the quality and safety of our products.
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. The OEKO-TEX system is well respected worldwide for its science-based approach to textile safety validation.
Testing for harmful substances includes: illegal substances, legally regulated substances, known harmful (but not legally regulated) chemicals, as well as parameters for health care.
Some of the countries we work in, including China, have poor to mixed records for protecting both the environment and workers' rights. We've made the choice not to disengage from countries on the basis of their policies. We work with several excellent factories in China, Cambodia and Taiwan, in particular. We believe in choosing factories wisely and in constructive engagement with others to lobby or work for change. Tribesports alone cannot change the work culture or government policies of the countries we do business in. We do work with other brands that share our factories.
